<p>We are continually looking for ways to simplify and optimize RepairShopr. In combination with feedback from you and others in the community, we’ve begun updating our layouts, buttons, and tabs to make RepairShopr even better.</p>

<p><strong>Main Tab List Pages</strong></p>
<p>Generally we’ve worked at consolidating buttons into main actions, modules, etc. We’ve looked at utilization and balanced that with easy of use and simplicity. Main page actions are now consistently green and on the left as well.</p>
<p>We’ve also added “Advanced” links to Search to clean up the detailed filters in search sections.</p>

<p><strong>Detail Pages</strong></p>
<p>We’ve used the same process here, consolidating buttons into menu items.</p>
<p>In a few cases &#8212; especially on the Ticket Detail page &#8212; we’ve relocated buttons from the body of the page to the top nav. For instance, you’ll see that’s where “Add / Charges on Ticket” now lives.</p>

<p>There are a few instances where an action may be one click further away but the benefit is having everything in one place, properly grouped making the interface more intuitive and easier to train new users on.</p>
<p><strong>Customer List and Detail Pages</strong></p>
<p>We’ve consolidated the Customer Modules to a single drop down on the Customer List page.</p>
<p>On the Customer Detail page, some consistent feedback we’ve received is that the auto-tiling of different sections (Invoices, Tickets, Communication Log) made consistently knowing where to look difficult. We’ve removed the auto-tiling so the order of sections is consistent based on frequency of use. We also added a “Jump To” section at the top.</p>

<li>We added a location column to the list of product serials</li>
<li>Bug Fix: Quickbooks desktop users should see better results in the address fields when importing their customers from quickbooks</li>
<li>Added customizable Appointment settings for Widget Flows</li>
<li>Bug Fix: POS new customer form now allows entry of phone numbers correctly</li>
<li>Updated the Recurring Invoices report with group-by-schedule with subtotals, and locations</li>
<li>We now use a Product&#8217;s sort_order by default on autocomplete results and Inventory page</li>
<li>The communication log will now have ticket comments and some of the adhoc emails</li>
<li>Bug Fix: Purchase Orders with due dates set will not spam your notifications anymore</li>

<p>We&#8217;ve been adding some major upgrades to existing RepairShopr modules over the last couple months and will be profiling these in the next couple weeks. One of these that we&#8217;re especially excited to announce is a major update to the RMA Tracking Center:</p>

<p>The major change here is that returns and RMA&#8217;s are now fully integrated into your inventory.</p>
<p>Did you receive a broken part on an order? Not a problem! You can now send that part back to the vendor and track the whole process in the new RMA Tracking Center. As you receive new information about the return from your vendor, you can easily update the status in RepairShopr so you know where the return is at all times. Once the part has been returned to you, you can complete the RMA and send the item back into your live inventory with a single click.</p>

<p>Kabuto acts as a mini-RMM geared toward techs who are looking to provide managed services to their residential clients. With Kabuto, you simply install a custom branded Windows application on your client’s machines, and specify certain triggers that will alert clients when issues occur and encourage them to get in touch with you for service. You can monitor client devices from a centralized dashboard to know when they are experiencing HD fragmentation, application crashes, issues with HD health and more. This allows you to forge stronger customer loyalty, keep clients up and running, and drive more business (and revenue) back to your shop.</p>

<p>And since we know video is such a powerful medium for reaching customers, we thought we’d share the process we went through in case other RepairShopr users are looking to do something similar.</p>
<p>First, we want to give a shout out to our stellar creative team— Keith Hitchcock of <a href="http://www.hocusfocusmedia.com/" title="http://www.hocusfocusmedia.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Hocus Focus Media</a><br />
 and Daniel Bales of <a href="http://www.sharpeyeanimation.com/" title="http://www.sharpeyeanimation.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sharp Eye Animation</a>.</p>
<p>The process began by us looking at dozens of explainer videos to get a sense of what we wanted to do. We looked at other sites similar to ours and we also did a lot of searches for different kinds of product videos. At first we discussed something live action, but in the end we felt that an animated video would work best for conveying the breadth of what RepairShopr offers.</p>
<p>That’s where Keith came in. Keith understands the power of video to attract new customers, simply explain complex ideas, and increase conversion rates. He was invaluable in the early stages of the video creation and acted as Writer &amp; Creative Lead through the process. Keith led us through a pre-production process to develop messaging &#8212; by doing interviews with us to get us talking about RepairShopr &#8212; then progressed into script development. </p>
<p>While in that process, we were introduced to Daniel at Palo Alto, California-based Sharp Eye Animation by a friend at another software company. They had exactly what we needed to help bring our animated video to life. We chose them based on their portfolio and the fact that they include unlimited rounds of revisions.</p>
<p>We had the initial discovery phone call with the Sharp Eye team who explained their process to us. A few days later we had our first glimpse into the visuals of our video in the form of a storyboard &#8212; basically a sequence of illustrations depicting the general flow of the video (see below).</p>

<p>We shared our feedback and the Sharp Eye team quickly revised the storyboard until it was exactly what we were looking for. A couple of days later we received character samples to choose from that would then be used as our main character. </p>

<p>We requested a few small changes and once those were implemented, the voiceover was recorded. Sharp Eye offered us dozens of voiceover artists to choose from, as well as foreign language options &#8211; something we may revisit down the road. </p>
<p>After the voiceover was recorded, the Sharp Eye team put it all together and produced our animation section by section which they shared with us in a private YouTube channel. We emailed them our feedback, and they would send us an updated version the next day. Sharp Eye was extremely responsive, flexible, and professional. </p>
<p>Keith monitored the animation revision process through all of this, constantly making sure the video had the right look, feel, and messaging. Being able to bounce ideas back and forth between the RepairShopr team, Keith at Hocus Focus, and Daniel at Sharp Eye meant that we had great feedback for each revision which led to better and better quality every round.</p>
<p>As we neared the end, Keith found an audio track to help build the energy of the narrative. Sharp Eye then even provided us with a few variations of our video (at no additional cost) &#8212; different calls-to-action and music options &#8212; just in case we want to change things up ourselves in the future. </p>
<p>Overall it was a great process and we’re very proud of the result!</p>
